June Youth Art Workshops
Woodland Indian Art is pleased to announce three new classes that will be offered, beginning on June 3rd, June 10th and a later June date to be determined.
1 - INTRODUCTION TO FINGER WEAVING
2 - INTRODUCTION TO IROQUOIS SILVERSMITHING
3 - INTRODUCTION TO WORKING WITH WAMPUM
Classes are free to high school students 18 and under.
For Youth, fill out the registration form here and return to info@woodlandindianart.com.
Youth are given priority for classes but adults may be added to a Wait List and will be notified of class openings closer to the date. Adults may send an email to Info@woodlandindianart.com to be added to the wait list. Please include your name, phone number to receive a call back, and the class you'd like to attend. Cost for adults is $25.00.
Classes will be limited to the first 8 completed registrations.

Introduction to Finger Weaving
Class Information:
Art Instructor: Lea Kolner Dodge-Waubanascum Date: June 3, 2023 Time: 10 am to 4 pm Location: WIA Studio (Radisson Lobby – look for sign) FREE Event for Youth ages 12 through high school students 18 years Light lunch provided. PROJECT: 1 1/2 - 2" bracelet. The same techniques can be applied to belts and larger projects. |

Iroquois Silversmithing Introduction
Class Information:
Art Instructors: Stephenie VanEvery & Isabella VanEvery Date: June 10, 2023 Time: 10 am to 4 pm Location: WIA Studio (Radisson Lobby – look for sign) FREE Event for Youth ages 12 through high school students 18 years Light lunch provided. CLASS: Learn about Oneida culture and create two brooches, German silver and sterling silver, inspired by trade silver the Haudenosaunee wore during colonial America. Piercing, doming, stamping and filing will be taught using a jeweler's saw, rawhide mallet, hammer and metal stamps. Pictured brooch is an example of a project students will create. |
