2019 Breakfast with the Artist
During the 2019 Woodland Indian Art Show & Market, we will be hosting "Breakfast with the Artist". We will hold two sessions. The sessions will be on Saturday & Sunday, May 25th & 26th. The cost of the breakfast for the public is $12.
Saturday, May 25thDana Warrington is an all-around talented artist representing both the Menominee Tribe of Wisconsin and the Prairie Band of Potawatomi of Kansas. Born and raised in the northern Great Lakes region, his artwork is Woodland influenced with a contemporary twist. He is a traditional artist inspired by generations of his family. He credits his main inspiration to his maternal grandmother Dorothy Young. Dana's many mediums include beadwork, quillwork, bustle-making, moccasins, and cradleboards. His journey to becoming an award-winning artist and business owner was decades in the making and is taking a turn blazing a trail he could have never imagined.

Sunday, May 26thJenie Gao is a full-time artist, creative director, and entrepreneur. She specializes in large-scale projects, printmaking, murals, and public art installations. She strives to make work that become cultural cornerstones and community landmarks.
Prior to founding her business, Jenie Gao Studio LLC, Jenie worked in for-profit and nonprofit businesses, in the arts, education, and lean manufacturing. Through her interdisciplinary work, Jenie advocates for creativity as a tool that builds connection, resilience, and community citizenry. |
