Instructor Application
for the Woodland Indian Art Show & Market

Please complete the Artist Application first before continuing with the Instructor Application. All prospective instructors must complete the Artist Application and pay artist application fees. Your Instructor Application will not be considered without a completed Artist Application.
Notice to all Instructor Applicants: All applicants must be a member of the WIA, Inc., Art Guild. If you were an artist in our 2024 show, you are automatically in the WIA guild for 1 year and can apply to be an instructor for our 2025 show. Any new artist who has submitted the artist application and fees, may also apply to be an instructor.
Class instructors are selected from applications to the Woodland Indian Art Show & Market. Selection is based on:

Variety of Woodland Indian Art, i.e. each class will provide a different art experience

Relevance of the Lesson Plan (lesson plan requirements below) to the mission of the Woodland Indian Art Show and Market.

Quality of the artwork and the Lesson Plan.

Achievability of the proposal based on the 3 hours available.

Level of public participation included in the Lesson Plan. The instructor will receive a $250 honorarium for 10 or less students. After 10 students, the instructor will receive an additional $25 per student with a $500 (20 students) maximum.

Applicant’s experience as an instructor.

Must be an accepted Juried Artist for the current show.

Instructor Applications will not be accepted after September 27, 2025.
Lesson Plan should include:

Steps to finish a piece of art.

A total of 3 hours are needed in order to complete the class.

Picture(s) of the finished product.

Age or skill specification, if any.

Narrative explaining the cultural/historical relevance of the art piece, and its use.

It is the responsibility of each instructor to have reliable coverage for your booth during class time or let a WIA, Inc. volunteer know you need help.

Instructor is responsible for providing class supplies and materials for up to 20 students/class (i.e. needles, beads, leather, clay, tools, paints, brushes, canvas, etc.) WIA, Inc. will reimburse supplies up to $500 if receipts are provided. NOTE: Anything purchased that is not given to the student, will not be included in the reimbursement. EXAMPLE: If a tool such as scissors are listed for reimbursement, but not given to the student, the scissors will not be reimbursed.
