Necklace is 15" long. In the style of Iroquois trade silver this set represents life also known as fire, and how it is passed to the next generation. Atop the silver piece is a mother birthing, and adjacent is her grandmother supporting her, grounded in gratitude of earth and water (crystals and pearls). Both sitting with their knees out and heels together. Between them are diamond, (a symbol fire/life/soul in the Oneida tradition) showing how the spirit fire is shared from one generation to the next, with the baby in the center being the most recent fire carrier. Our ancestors portrayed as stars, guiding and protecting the sacred ceremony of birth. Silver Jewelry Set, Hand cut, sterling silver, pearl, crystal, glass. Necklace and earrings are sold as a set.
