10" W x 11" H. We begin to understand the bright legacy (copper) and rich heritage our ancestors left for us, as we work together to assemble (the vessel) the pieces of our culture. Adorned with the lunar calendar of 13 moons, 28 women for each day. Women as sisters supporting each other in life, the face of grandmother moon and four protector effigies watching over the safe arrival of children as their spirits (within the pot) navigate from the spirit world to ours. Contemporary Oneida Pot, Coil Method, Pit Fired, copper leaf.
